What is gum disease?
Gum disease is also called periodontal disease.
It is a chronic inflammatory reaction against certain bacteria present in the dental plaque of the tissues that support the teeth. It is caused by the accumulation of bacteria between the tooth and the gum. It is also a progressive disease; the first step is gingivitis, which can later become periodontitis.
Gingivitis is a reversible inflammation of the gums that can progressively spread to the bone tissue. It develops slowly and often without pain.
To prevent and treat gingivitis, Gencix mouthwash, the 100% natural oral hygiene solution, can be used daily. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
If gingivitis sets in, it can cause destruction of the bone: it becomes periodontitis and can induce loosening or even loss of teeth.
But how can you know if you are affected by it? In another post, you will find a list of symptoms that should alert you.
